Dr Scott Phillips grew up in Gibraltar and moved to Newcastle in 2008 to start Dental School. Since graduating in 2013, he has worked in a variety of practices in County Durham whilst furthering his education in advanced dental care.

In early 2017, Scott bought a dental practice and began a complete refurbishment of the premises in the summer of 2019 - to create Phillips & Co Cosmetic Dentistry.

Scott’s main care focuses involve the rehabilitation of smiles and he considers dental implants an essential cornerstone of general dental practice, starting his own implant adventure in 2018. His postgraduate qualifications have allowed him to become a Full Member of both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

He is involved in the mentoring and tutoring of other dental professionals, being approved by the Royal College of Surgeons of England to mentor in Conscious Sedation Techniques and by the Association of Dental Implantology to mentor in all aspects of Implant Dentistry.

In 2026, after some time teaching under the umbrella of other organisations, Scott decided to found and launch Magpie Implantology. The aim of Magpie Implantology is to offer real world experience and skills to our delegates and most importantly practice from a humble standpoint - Implantology is sadly saturated with so many opinions and ‘noise’ that during his own education Scott found it difficult to ascertain the ‘truths’.

Magpie Implantology will teach you a holistic approach to the lifetime care of a patient, ensuring you practice with knowledge and reasoning.
